Adding a Location

1. When you first select the Locations option, a Select A Location window will appear with the following options:

 

Scroll to ADD and press Enter to select.

2. At the Location ID field, enter a two character alphanumeric ID to be associated with the location.

3. Enter the location name in the Location Name field.

4. Enter the optional address 1, address 2, city, state, and zip code of the location. This information will print on the warehouse release, bills of lading, and as the ship to address on the purchase order.

5. Enter the primary phone and fax numbers associated with the location. Additional contact information can be entered in eContact.

6. At the Saleable field enter Y (Y=yes) if the inventory in this location is usable in sales orders. Enter N (N=no) if the location is used to store inventory only and not for direct shipments to your customers.

7. At the Slotted field, enter Y (Y=yes) if the location has slotting capabilities; enter N (N=no) if the location does not have slotting capabilities.

8. At the Commit PO from SO enter Y (Y=yes) if sales reps have the ability to commit a sales order against an incoming purchase order for this location when selecting from available inventory lots. Enter N (N=no) if sales reps do not have the ability to commit a sales order against an incoming purchase order for this location.

9. At the Ship Unspecified field, enter Y (Y=yes) if orders are to be shipped and invoiced even though the inventory lots have not been specified and N (N=no) if lots must be assigned prior to invoicing for this location. The Commit PO rom SO must be set to yes to set the Ship Unspecified to Yes

10. At the Sales Can Tag Lots field, enter Y (Y=yes) if sales reps have the ability to select lots to sell from this location during sales order entry; enter N (N=no) if sales reps do not have the ability to select lots to sell from this location during sales order entry.

11. At the Auto Tag Lots, enter Y (Y=yes) if the next available lot is automatically committed from sales orders, based on the Lots Tagged Automatically setting in Sales Options; enter N (N=no) if the user must assign the lots to the sales order.

12. At the Auto Individual Lot Number Assignment, entering Y (Y=yes) will automatically assign a lot number to the product received on an individual lot type purchase orders. The lot number assigned will be a consecutive number beginning with FZ001001 Enter N (N=no) and the system will not automatically assign a lot number to the product when received.

13. At the Auto Lot Number Assignment in Planned Transfers, enter Y (Y=yes) if lot numbers are to be automatically transferred based on the planned transfer number and line item number when the planned transfer is completed, or N (N=no) they are not.

Note: If you create a slotted location, the system will warn you to enter the location again to create the slots desired. After creating the location, select it again from the list of locations, and use the Slots command option to add slots.

14. When you have finished and exited the last field, command options will appear:

Scroll to Add and press Enter to select.

15. You will be positioned at the Location ID field once again. Add another location or if you are done creating locations, press Enter and then use the EXIT option to return to the main menu. Enter the Location ID and select the Slot command to create the slots if this is a slotted location. See Adding a Slot.
